Itineraries · 4 lengths

Bali itineraries, from 7 days to 3 weeks

Four routes that loop in a single direction and finish near the airport. Each one gives the day-by-day detail, drive times as orders of magnitude, and what you can skip without regret.

Comparing the four lengths

A week fits into two bases, Ubud and then the sea. Ten days add the rural east. Two weeks allow the whole east and Nusa Penida with a night there. Three weeks take you around the island via the north, with days without a car.

Bali in 7 days: two bases, Ubud then the sea

One week is enough for Bali if you accept to choose. Two bases, a single long excursion, and the certainty of leaving the north, the east and Nusa Penida for a next trip.

Bali in 2 weeks: four bases and Nusa Penida

Two weeks let you see Ubud, the east, an island and the south coast, with a day without a program at each stage. The route turns in one direction and ends near the airport.

How to choose your bases

  • At least two nights everywhere: each change of accommodation costs half a day.
  • A single direction of travel, from the center to the south coast: each drive brings you closer to the airport.
  • The distant regions, Amed 2 h 30 to 3 h from the airport and Munduk about 2 h 30 away, are visited by staying the night, never as a day trip.
  • Nusa Penida is done by staying the night, and the return from the island is never placed the day before your flight.

Travel times are detailed in the guide getting around Bali, the cost of each stop in the guide budget for a trip to Bali.
