| Step | What happens |
|---|---|

| Craft villages | Slower road, stops possible |

Pitfalls on the Sanur–Ubud route
The pitfalls: reaching Ubud in the late afternoon, when the main street locks up; letting the drive turn into a tour of craft shops you never asked for; giving just “Ubud” as the address; and underestimating how tired you will be the day after a late flight.
- Arriving in the late afternoon: the way into Ubud clogs, and the top of the range becomes likely.
- Letting a driver add shop stops: agree on the stops before you leave.
- Giving just the town name: share the exact location of your accommodation.
- Chaining a night flight and an early drive: a quiet morning in Sanur costs nothing.
