Three options: the public boat, slow to fill but simple; the fast or shared boat, more flexible; and a chartered private boat, handy for a group. All usually land at Bangsal. After that you need a car: book it in advance, with the boat or separately.

You board from the beach on Gili Trawangan, often wading out. The crossing to Bangsal is short. On arrival, you meet your driver or negotiate a ride. The drive to your final destination on Lombok takes up most of the day.
